What is Uberbeard?

Uberbeard is the chosen alias of James Crawford, an Interactive Media student at Bournemouth Arts Institute. It’s fairly catchy and memorable, so it was adopted as the title of his blog, which you are on. If you don’t know what a blog is, then you should be banned from the interwebs. If you don’t quite understand the name itself, here is a little help for you:

Ubernoun
Meaning ‘above’ in German, but has been adopted as modern English slang to mean ‘better’, ’super’ or ‘ultimate’ with, usually, a higher emphasis.

Beardnoun
A beard.

Beard has also been used to describe someone who is being used as a cover for a homosexual person to form the pretence that they are straight. It is non-sex based, so it can be used for either a gay man or a lesbian woman. For instance, Thomas might go out a lot with Charlotte so that he does not appear gay, Charlotte would be the ‘beard’.

In this case, it is not true. James has never been used as a lesbian woman’s beard, and they probably would never ever choose him anyway, ever. To back up this point, he is very manly, robust, chiseled, strong-looking and not at all attractive in any feminine sense. He definitely does not have girly eyes or hands.

This is a fact.

James, looking very manly.

This blog is primarily part of James’ course, sharing a dual purpose as his progress and planning area, on top of being a random splurge of blogging heaven. Give it a read, see if you like his style and bookmark it…

Even if you don’t, damn it. Bookmark anyway.
