Too much time on Facebook…

It’s official. Facebook has now been declared the shittiest, stupidest and biggest piece of procrastipution known to man. It is a plague affecting the students, office workers and general introverts of this nation… nay, I would hazard the world. Facebook has to die, will someone not denounce it as some kind of mind warping drug that is deserving of rehab so I don’t feel so drawn to it…

just say no!

Hold that thought, that might make the matters worse. I know Facebook is terrible, being told it will probably just push me the other way into becoming a full time junkie.

Tonight, perhaps, is forgivable. I am at work, I have finished the days tasks, if you will, and am merely waiting to go to bed. My time is pretty much my time, as none of my service users appear entirely interested in pestering for my attention at the moment. Thus, I have come here to blog a little bit because I really have missed out on the blogosphere this past few months. No worries, I’m sure there will be a merger between Facebook and WordPress at some point and you’ll see me in the near future updating Uberbeard through my mobile phone, or my iPod, or my television… Or maybe my toilet seat, because let’s face it, that’d be the perfect time to get up on those LIVE feeds they’ve implemented.

I’ve likened Facebook to a strange digital adaption of one of my favorite hobbies, people watching. It’s like staring out of the window of a cafe, and seeing all the people you’ve met in your life doing all sorts of things like… parties… and babies… and photos of the parties… Well, yeah, Facebook seems a bit limited at times, but that might just be the people I know. Knew. The people I knew. It’s an important, if odd, distinction.

There’s plenty of weirdness in the murky Blue, White and off-White depths of Facebook to blog about and joke about, but I feel that if I start now I might delve off into too muchery, and that can never be a good thing.

Anyway, as you might be able to tell from the post below this one, I have now finished my Motion Graphics unit and am still procrastinating about making a new blog to put all my course related materials on. It’s not even funny that the thing that has been holding me back from making my new work blog is in fact the inability to think of a witty name to call it. Uberbeard just seemed so inspired at the time… and Joystick Jockeys makes sense, it just fits, but now I need to follow those two with a third… What a bugger.

Well that’s me for now, so I guess I’ll pop in a little later and see what’s happening with you people… Hey, I’d appreciate a comment every now and then, so I know that you’re actually there…
